Framingham Mayoral Candidate Yvonne Spicer Files Early Finance Report
Report Shows Strong Financial Support from Framingham Residents
Framingham, MA, A week before the deadline Yvonne Spicer, Candidate for Mayor of Framingham submitted a campaign finance report today to the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance (OCPF). The report shows the campaign raised $38,418 as of 9/8/17 with 67% of contributions coming from within Framingham.
Spicer said, “I am releasing my campaign finance data early because I will be a Mayor who models transparency. I want people to know that I will run the city of Framingham honestly and transparently – working to earn their trust.”
Spicer said she “first started fundraising in June, after I was certified to be on the ballot. It’s been a grassroots effort which has made me and my team very proud. I’m new to politics with no war chest from prior political fundraising and we were able to raise close to $40,000 in just about 3 months. I have been inspired that 59% of the contributions have come from women, and proud that the majority of contributions have come from Framingham residents who believe in my campaign to be the People’s Mayor of Framingham.” The candidate loaned the campaign $5,000 and one PAC contribution for $300 was received from the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus (MWPC). The MWPC endorsed Yvonne Spicer for Framingham Mayor.
In addition to the financial contributions, Spicer remarked that “the value of this campaign is much greater than these numbers. Volunteers have given an extraordinary amount of time and energy. I am very grateful to all of them.”
The Campaign Finance Report reflects all income and expenses for January 1, 2017 through September 8, 2017 and must be submitted by all Mayoral candidates by 9/18/17. Reports are available at www.ocpf.us.
